The bikini itself
The bikini itself is tiny and can be found all over the world. Most micro bikinis only use enough fabric to cover up the private area itself, all other area is exposed. The bikini itself was designed to fill a small gap between full nude and “conservative swimwear”.
Like most other bikinis, it comes in various colors and has a few variations out there as well. Most variations take the string and use something more imaginative like a decorative safe wire or some other creative holder.
History
This bikini dates back to the early 1700s in Venice Beach, California, USA where it was first worn by the locals. The locals started making homemade suits where little pieces of fabric where sewn together held by a tiny string. They used twine or fishing line for the string portion.
The reason the locals were doing this was because of a legislation that was passed, banning all nudity from the beach. It wasn’t until 1975 when someone coined the phrase and started selling manufactured micro bikinis. Wicked Weasel is one of the largest companies that sells micro bikinis today.
Appearance in films
The micro bikini was made popular soon afterwards when several actresses started to wear the micro bikini when they were making films. Some of the actresses were adult models from the adult industry who were now wearing the micro bikini in bikini videos.
There was a variation made in the adult industry where someone thought they would reverse the whole idea of the micro bikini and they created a garment where the whole body was mainly covered but the pubic region was left exposed. It's a bad idea to wear and doesn't look good either.
